Sunshine

Oakley and Logan were able to go with his family to Arizona the week between Christmas and New Years. If you look close, you can see Jax laying in the sunshine soaking up the sun, just like his Grandma Hawkins LOVES to do. What a perfect way for them to end the year! So jealous!

Christmas Games

This time of year we play lots and lots of games and puzzles. Infact, this year we did every puzzle we owned and had to go to DI to buy a few more. ;) Aunt Jenny gave us this reindeer ring toss. So fun!

Axe Throwing

The day after Christmas I scheduled an axe throwing booth for all of us. I had to beg and plead to get some of us there...(Dallin!) but once we were there we had so much fun. We stopped for ice cream afterwards. Time together is by far my favorite!

Christmas Letter

 Dear Friends and Family,

We hope this finds you all doing well. We love and miss so many of you! Just a quick update on our family. It seems so much changes in just a few short years.

Oakley and her husband Logan moved back to Idaho this fall. It has been such a blessing having them close by. Oakley is teaching 3rd grade this year. She has missed being a stay at home mom and has struggled with morning sickness from her pregnancy, but otherwise has really enjoyed teaching. Logan still has a little more schooling before he finishes his commercial pilots license. Which might move them back to Utah unfortunately. We are so proud of all his hard work over these past 2 years. Their little Jax man is the highlight of our lives! He brings each of us so much joy. We are excited to welcome his little brother this spring.

Dallin was home for a minute after a few semesters of college, but was excited to move back up to Rexburg with a cousin this past summer. He is farming full time with his dad and uncle. He bought our cows from us this year, which keeps him busy. He’s a natural at all things farm related and such a hard worker. He loves the social life Rexburg has and does a lot of country dancing and dating. He was also able to squeeze some hunting in this fall. He still occasionally has time to post a video on his IdaHunter YouTube channel. His most recent was of a cougar following him down the fence line. So scary!

Rhett is coaching cheer again this year at Bonneville as one of their assistant coaches. After a state championship win this past spring he knew he wanted to coach at least one more year. He has such a competitive heart! He helped Ryan build grain bins this summer, taking on a huge leadership role as Ryan’s time was divided several different ways. He is currently doing some online college courses and still running his own  photography business.

Laiklie is a Senior at the Technical Careers High School. She is doing their welding program, which she loves! She also played volleyball for Bonneville again this fall with her team making it to state. She is teaching dance to two little clogging teams and just started a new job at a western wear store. She is such a busy kid! We love just following her around to all the things she’s involved in. She worked this past summer welding for Ryan again. It’s fun listening to him brag about his teenage daughter “the welder” to all the farmers.

Ryan and I decided to buy his dad's grain bin/auger business late last year and have been working on that transition this year. It has come with a lot of learning and growth for both of us. We also finally got our dream calling of teaching primary together. We love, love, love it!

Our family has been very blessed! We have had several challenges this past year that have made us have to work hard, and pray hard. We continue to see the Lord’s hand in our lives and recognize how blessed we are. We will forever be grateful for the gospel and the Savior of the world. We send all our love to each of you as you celebrate His birth.

With love,

The Hawkins Family

Christmas '24

We had a great Christmas together! We waited until Dallin was finished feeding and Oakley & Logan got here before we did presents. We spent the morning together then went to Grandma Hawkins for lunch. Logan still didn't feel great from strep and Jax had a fever so they stayed at our house for lunch. While they were there, Laiklie's boyfriend Hunter showed up with this incredible vanity he built her. She was so surprised and totally in love with it!
Christmas is such a special time as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. We are so, so blessed!

Gingerbread Houses

On Christmas Eve we made gingerbread houses together. It was a mess, but such a fun mess! Jax thought it was funny that his Papa ate the house. Hahaha! Hunter worked really hard and made a truck instead of a house. It was such a fun night. Jax finished off the night with his new Christmas jammies. Logan had strep throat so he missed it all, but felt good enough to come for Christmas Day.

Christmas Sunday & Party at Grandmas

Grandma Linn bought Jax the cutest Christmas church outfit. That night she did the Christmas gift game exchange with all the grandkids at her house. Logan and Dallin were sick, but everyone else was there. It's always fun to be together as the holidays approach. Linn is so sweet to keep this tradition going year after year!
